Its goal is to prevent:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>capital flight abroad;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>violations of currency laws;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>fictitious imports\/exports.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Part 2 of Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine &#8220;On Currency and Currency Transactions&#8221;, <strong>currency control uses a risk-based approach<\/strong>. This means that authorities focus <strong>only on transactions that seem risky or suspicious<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What Triggers Currency Supervision?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Banks notify the State Tax Service of high-risk operations. Common violations include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u274c incomplete document packages submitted to the bank;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u274c customs declarations submitted to a non-servicing bank;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u274c payments received in accounts not listed in the declaration;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u274c failure to inform the bank of changes to customs declarations (e.g. correction sheet);<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u274c exceeding payment deadlines without explanation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Avoid Currency Control Issues?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The State Tax Service recommends:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pre-approve<\/strong> your document list with the bank;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Submit documents promptly<\/strong> and within legal deadlines;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Inform your bank immediately<\/strong> about any declaration changes;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cross-check<\/strong> payment info and customs declaration: currency, payer name, account number, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Following these steps:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>reduces inspections,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>saves time on clarifications,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>minimizes fines and blocked currency transfers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Policy Context: New STS Strategy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currency control is part of Ukraine\u2019s <strong>Revenue Strategy 2030<\/strong> (Cabinet Resolution No. 1218-\u0440).
